Emile Foote suggests an option to chose which axis to apply zoom to - when you scroll the mouse, it zooms in both directions (Horizontal and Vertical) so you can lose the depth points from the screen. Having an option to only zoom in horizontal direction would keep the vertical scale constant. I think this is a good idea?
