Build a consolidated sales website with all of assessment services product offerings:
Include detailed product information with a wording that is fine-tuned based on historical customer needs and sales reps’ experience and implement the website in amazon web services (AWS)
Implement a chatbot via AWS-Polly and AWS-Lex to identify customers intentions
Prompt the customer to fill a form with information about their utility such pipe types, priorities, and other relevant information.
Record customer interaction with the website to provide a systematic overview of sales trends, customer needs in AWS-DynamoDB
Reroute the customer to a dedicated BD person(s) for the selected technology based on steps 2, and 3
Provide bundled products at a discount based on insights gained by step 4 and historical experience
Similar to step 6, customize offerings based on the clients needs and other factors
Assets needed:
BD persons with specialized sales experience in each product line
Software developers to build the website (Fast development due to the website being implemented in AWS)
Data scientists to build the AWS-Polly, Lex, and DynamoDB pieces, and to provide routine sales data analytics to assist in future business moves
Time to implement the alpha version: ~2 months
Per Stephen, this idea is on the radar for next year, although it’s a lot more complicated than the idea/steps suggests. The main issue is that it takes a lot more than a few BD people to design the content flow of the website, as well as write the content itself vs. just reusing stuff from the existing separate sites. There are also layers of complexity related to where the site is hosted/found with the Xylem website group.
