We license and track SmartBall usage information on all SmartBall projects using HASP keys and a custom license check-in scheme. It's been requested that we replace these keys with an all-software solution.
Prevent downtime when people can't access the software due to lost keys
Less technical support due to driver issues
Less maintenance in having to brand the keys for our software, and managing the inventory
Less IT maintenance of a custom server that connects to a physical master key. They are currently using a desktop computer instead of a server because of the fact that most users don't accept USB.
Note that if we are to do this, it should be done before we do Sahara licensing.

There was an option considered at one time to do this in the ITC, but we don't have the developer pool for that.
Financial Benefit - 60 hours/year saved due to problems with driver issues + 40 hours/year IT and administrative time managing keys + $60/software key !~= $6K
The NPV is very low, but this should be considered as a removal of frustrations coming from the existing system and a lot o create a more scalable system to support Sahara licensing
