Problem Statement
Wachs Water data indicates that access ports (roadway box or vault lids) for 5% of mapped water valves in the United States are not visibly accessible and cannot be located with a conventional magnetic locator. This renders ~600,000 valves in the US unlocatable and therefore unusable.
Objective
Repurpose XLI PWA to definitively locate (or confirm the nonexistence) of water valves that cannot be otherwise practically located. Intended client deliverable is an “X” on the ground along with a valve location report OR a report indicating that that the valve is likely nonexistent.
